Hey, I am Abi. I have had Abi Rose Beauty for 3 years now! When I left school I knew I wanted to do some sort of hair or beauty course in college. I then read into apprenticeships and knew this was the road I wanted to go down. I applied
at my local college and they got me an interview with a local salon and I started
pretty much straight away and let me just say... it did not go to plan. After a few weeks I left there and had 2 weeks to find a new salon to take me on so could
carry on with my apprenticeship. After lots of phone calls and interviews I found one! I did my level 2 & 3 courses at this salon and then we went into lockdown in 2020, it all went down hill from here. I was trying to pass my level 3 whilst in a pandemic and get through what was such a worrying time. As soon as everything started getting back to normal and salons were opening again, I saw a local salon advertising a rent a desk opportunity. I mentioned it to my mum and went
"oh if only i could go self employed". My mum then went "well why cant you?"
Well... 3 hours after that I had gone to this salon said I wanted to rent the desk and handed my notice in at the salon I was employed at.
I was sooo scared but so excited to start this adventure! rented the desk at the
salon for 9 months where I built quite a big clientele very quickly. After this period I knew I was ready to go full time at home and had a home salon built, I had so many mixed emotions about this... What if no one follows me , what if no one likes my home salon. There was so many what ifs but I can now say after being in my home salon full time for over 2 years that I am so proud of myself for making that decision but I wouldn't change a thing.
